A 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Brunswick Community Education Foundation (BCEF) provides grants to enhance public education in Brunswick. Now, through the BCEF Business Partnership Program, area businesses can play a leading role in encouraging a creative spirit and bold experimentation in Brunswick’s public schools.
Fostering innovation in our schools helps the Brunswick community by:
Enhancing excellence in our town’s schools. Our grants share a common goal: to improve educational experiences and outcomes in our town’s public schools – goals that are assessed in concluding reports provided by grant recipients. The town of Brunswick has cultivated a reputation for having some of the best schools in the region, and we aim to build on that strength. The quality of our schools is the foundation of a well-trained local workforce, strong home values, and a prosperous community.
Demonstrating our community’s commitment to supporting innovation. By supporting grants that are creative and tied to the curriculum but that fall beyond the traditional school budget parameters, we provide tangible evidence of Brunswick’s commitment to academic excellence at all levels. We want families considering a move to Brunswick to know that this community encourages opportunities to go beyond the basics.
Helping with the recruitment of Maine’s best teachers. When a teaching position becomes available in Brunswick, we are competing with other area districts for the best applicants. When a job candidate is considering a position in Brunswick, we’d like them to know that there are additional sources of funding that might be available for them to bring that great idea or project to life as an educator in Brunswick’s schools.
Engaging our students in enrichment activities throughout our community. Current BCEF grants in action reach beyond the school walls. Since last spring, students have conducted lobster research at Paul’s Marina, observed marine ecology on reflective nature walks at the Bowdoin College Coastal Studies Center, and held a public research symposium at Curtis Memorial Library on caring for the waters of Casco Bay. BCEF grants are supporting opportunities for Brunswick’s students to engage with the community in exciting ways.
BCEF Business Partners will receive a sticker to display in your business and recognition at BCEF fundraising events. Most importantly, your donation will allow BCEF to continue funding grants and enrichment opportunities for all of Brunswick’s students.
